Our Principals

Christopher M. Greer, Principal

​

Mr. Greer provides a full range of investment management, advisory, financial planning and other full-service consulting services to affluent individuals, families and closely held businesses. While he is involved in several aspects of the investment management process, his focus is on the use of traditional asset classes. For closely held businesses Mr. Greer supports the qualified retirement plan practice.

​

Prior to co-founding GSG Advisors LLC he worked at one of the largest investment management firms in the industry, SEI Investments. At SEI, he held a number of department roles ranging from product development, investment manager search and monitoring within the investment management unit, to distributing investment products to the various market units. Most recently, he was a Regional Director for the Enterprise Network focusing on institutional investors including corporations, endowments, foundations, Taft-Hartley and Public Pension funds. As a Regional Director he worked with the retirement plan trustees in developing and enhancing their retirement platforms. He assisted the trustees with developing more efficient and effective processes addressing the trustees’ responsibilities.

Mr. Greer completed his undergraduate studies at Lehigh University with a BS in Business and Economics.

Joseph E. Scocca, Principal (J.D.*, LL.M., CPA*, CFP, CLU)

​

Mr. Scocca provides a full range of estate planning, tax planning, charitable planning, asset protection planning, insurance planning, business succession planning and other financial planning services to affluent individuals, families and closely held businesses.

​

Prior to co-founding GSG Advisors LLC, Mr. Scocca served as the Director of Advanced Planning for the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network for the Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware offices. Prior to practicing in the financial solutions industry, Mr. Scocca practiced as an Attorney in the Estate Planning and Tax Department at the law firm of Blank Rome LLP and prior to practicing with Blank Rome, he practiced as a CPA for the accounting firm Deloitte & Touche LLP.

Mr. Scocca received his LL.M. in Taxation from Villanova University School of Law, his J.D. with High Honors from Rutgers University School of Law where he was the Managing Editor of the Rutgers Law Journal, and his B.S. in Accounting from Rutgers University School of Business. He is licensed to practice law in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and a Certified Life Underwriter (CLU). He is a frequent speaker for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute on various estate and business planning topics.

Jon Greer, Principal (J.D.*, MBA)

​

Mr. Greer provides a full range of investment management, capital asset management and other financial planning services to affluent individuals, families and closely held businesses. While he is involved in several aspects of the investment management process, his focus is on the use of alternative investment classes such as real estate, private equity investments, hedge funds and similar vehicles.

​

Prior to co-founding GSG Advisors LLC, Mr. Greer practiced as an attorney in the Business and Finance and Real Estate Groups of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP (Philadelphia office). His broad practice focused on representing corporations, institutions, developers and entrepreneurs regarding corporate, real estate and financing matters throughout the country. Before joining Morgan Lewis, he worked with a regional commercial real estate appraisal and development group assisting firms in the Delaware Valley on such matters as the evaluation of investment opportunities, property tax appeals, bankruptcy proceedings, condemnations, and portfolio valuations.

Mr. Greer received his law degree with honors from Rutgers University School of Law, where he was a member of the Rutgers Law Journal. While working, he received his M.B.A. in Finance from Temple University and is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society. He graduated from Kenyon College, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Economics.

Mr. Greer is licensed to practice law in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He also holds a New Jersey real estate license.*
